Australia Wedding Dress Designer: Sophia Tolli

sophia-tolli-wedding-dresses-001About the Designer: Sophia Tolli is an Australian bridal line founded in 2006 by Sophia Apostolides. When Sophia was growing up, her seamstress aunt created most of her clothes by hand. Choosing her own fabrics inspired Sophia to follow in her aunt’s footsteps and become a dressmaker as a teenager. After college, she spent 10 years as the head designer at Maggie Sottero before collaborating with Mon Cheri to design her own line. This line, Sophia Tolli, is known for its beautiful, high-end but lower-price gowns, named after timely pop culture trends.

About her collections, Sophia has said she has two themes: “One is soft classic romanticism; the other is of traditional bridal drama. My signature style will always be gowns with an exceptional fit and cut. I’d like each dress to flatter the bride and look high-end without the high-end price tag.”

Sophia Tolli gowns can be found at most major bridal retailers. For a surprisingly affordable price, her wide range of gowns hold something in store for every bride. She focuses on dramatic elements, like intricate beading and full skirts, but designs her gowns in a very tasteful, elegant way.

Tutubridal Blog Says: If you want a dress your guests will remember but don’t want to break the budget, Sophia Tolli will be perfect for you! Her gowns are true show-stoppers for affordable prices. She offers a wide variety of silhouettes, but each has a surprising twist. We love her unique beading patterns—they majorly up the glam factor—and variety of flattering cuts. Her dresses remind us of something you’d see at a celebrity wedding, but for only a fraction of the cost! Her dresses take traditional bridal silhouettes and add interesting lace and applique details to make each dress feel totally unique.

Luxury Wedding Dress Designer: Pronovias

About The Designer:

Pronovias is a family-owned design firm founded by Alberto Palatchi Bienveniste. In 1922 their store El Suizo opened in Barcelona, where Bienveniste sold high-quality silks and beautiful lace embroidery to high-society brides. Their official bridal line was launched in 1964, and Pronovias became internationally known for their high-fashion gowns in 1980, when they opened stores in Germany, France, the UK and Italy. In 2008, the gowns finally came to the US when the brand opened a flagship store in New York City. There are now 163 Pronovias shops across the world in 105 different countries, making them one of the largest names in the bridal space.

If you feel like Pronovias wedding dresses cover a wide range of styles, you shouldn’t be surprised. Their design team, still based out of Barcelona, is made up of 60 designers! The designers create an amazing set of 700 gowns per season from a wide variety of fabrics and designs, meaning you’ll have more chances than with any other wedding dress designer to find the perfect one for you.

Tutubridal Blog Says:

The main element of Pronovias gowns that stands out to us has to be the lace! Beautiful Spanish lace patterns add a European elegance to Pronovias gowns that makes them truly one-of-a-kind. Their dresses are glamorous and red-carpet ready, and come at a variety of price points for brides with different budgets. Although their focus can often be on form-fitting gowns, we love that they offer a ton of different silhouettes, from ball gowns to mermaid and trumpet wedding dresses.
